Grace United Church of Christ Capital Campaign
Many things have changed in our lives, in our community, and in society during the last forty years of our life together as a church at our current location. Now is the time for us to ask how best we can continue to be faithful and effective in the years to come and what actions today can help us to accomplish the things we want for our future.
So we listened, considered, reviewed in order to enhance our faith and perspective as we work together to shape our church’s future. It was decided that we would begin a capital campaign to make Grace UCC accessible to ALL people. Part of this process is realizing that we are not alone in our work of serving God and have agreed to include a portion of we raise to support our Penn Central Conference “4 Our Churches Campaign.”
Recognizing the abundance of God’s gifts in our lives we strive to:
- Enhance the communal vision for ministry at Grace United Church of Christ.
- Establish a physical structure that will allow all people to worship with comfort and accessibility.
- Enrich our theological conversation on faithful stewardship.
- Encourage mission beyond our walls through the support of Penn Central Conference.
- Empower leadership in all avenues of church life.
- Evangelize, though the energy and support of the capital campaign, that God is indeed still speaking at Grace United Church of Christ.
As with many things in life, there are several stages to go through in order to accomplish that which we set out to do. This is an on-going project, and we ask you to check back to this page for progress reports. All of the committees for the Capital Campaign are working together and keeping our mission and our purpose in mind. Pledges are always welcome to help with the building updates necessary for the future of Grace UCC.
Capital Campaign update
At a recent congregational meeting the bids from Arthur Funk & Sons and G. F. Bowman were accepted for the building improvements at Grace UCC. The main purpose for these changes is to make our church accessible to ALL people.
Some of the building improvements include:
- Addition of an elevator
- Improved handicap accessibility
- The addition of a Geothermal Heating/Cooling system, which will add air conditioning and improve the heating system on the main floor
- New windows and doors
- Larger offices for Pastor and Secretary
- New nursery
- Addition of a choir room
